What Kind of Terrorist Were You?

November 18, 2009 1 comment

All those that have played Modern Warefare 2, and for many who have not, are familiar with a level in the game called “No Russian”.  You are an undercover CIA officer who is about to be part of a terrorist attack in a Russian airport.  The group you have infiltrated is about to go on an automatic weapon shooting spree through a crowded airport, what do you do?  What did you do?  I think that question shows were Infinity Ward failed with this level.

In “No Russia” there really is no choice for the player.  The first time through the level I shot the terrorists and blew my cover which caused the level to restart.  The next time through I just walked along as the terrorists shot the screaming civilians after which you have start killing russian police to proceed through the level.

The entire games story line counts on the United States being blamed for the attack so the ending to the level was the only way the story could proceed but I would have like to see the player given a choice. As a matter of fact in the storyline of the game the correct reaction should have been to kill the terrorists and blow your cover.  It is the only way to avoid the invasion that sets off the rest of the storyline.

Anyway, what did you guys do in the level?  Did you try to kill the terrorists?  Did you help them kill civilians?  Leave it in the comments.

Democratic Senator Jack Reed of Vermont Agrees With George Bush on Guantanamo

November 15, 2009 Leave a comment

Democratic Senator Jack Reed of Nevada gave the best explanation I have heard for keeping terrorist in Guantanamo Baby, Cuba.  Except his explanation was used to placate the worries about trying terrorists in Federal Court in New York City.

Speaking on “Fox News Sunday”, upon questioning by host Chris Wallace about the likely hood of 9/11 plotter being found not guilty in Federal Court and released, Reed had this to say

“Under basic principles of international law, as long as these individuals pose a threat they can be detained and they will.”

Upon further questioning Reed added

“Under the principle of preventive detention which is recognized during hostilities … I don’t think he’ll be released. “.

If the Senator agrees that we are presently under “hostilities” with terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed then why are we trying him in a civilian court?

The Senator from Vermont who was on the short list to be Barack Obama’s Vice President running mate on the Democratic ticket has openly stated that persons posing a threat to the United States can be held indefinitely, not only without a trial, but can be given a trial, acquitted and still held indefinitely.

What a difference a change in adminstration makes for some people’s opinions.

New Apple Keyboard for $1.99

November 9, 2009 1 comment

I was all ready to get a new keyboard for my Mac Pro when I decided to see what I could do with the one that I have.  I bought a $1.99 bottle of rubbing alcohol from the local drugmart and the results speak for themselves.

Not bad for a 2 year old keyboard and $1.99 in upkeep.
