Why I Stopped Using Windows

I bought Modern Warfare 3 and tried to run it on Windows 7.  (Why do I need Steam to play the game?)  Steam is displaying an error when I try to play MW3.  These are the “troubleshooting” steps Steam is asking me to try:

That’s atleast an hours work to troubleshoot, does this seem sane to any non-windows user?  I’m running this on a boot camp partition of OS X.  MW3 ran fine the first time, now it won’t start.  Do I really need spend atleast an hour to figure this out?
